Just wanted to post an update.
Yesterday, the driver's insurance company called me and immediately agreed to settle with me. I guess they were pretty willing to work with me since the driver had given me such a hard time and apparently not reported my information to the company, thinking that they wouldnt eventually get a copy of the police report.
I'm satisfied. They paid for all the repairs to the bike, and $200 of compensation, which included 30 dollars for everyday it was in the shop. I'm pretty satisfied given that I had no injuries and my bike wasn't totaled.
