wrist hurt

hello there, I have only been ridding for about 4 weeks, my wrist are killing me. What i am doing wrong, or is something not properly adjusted i.e height of saddle / bars

Get fitted properly. The number one reason for pain while cycling is bike fit. You'll probably need to set the seat further back and replace the stem with one that has a higher rise, but if you take it to a bike shop, they'll be able to set you up nicely.

I had the same problem after I had a slight disagreement with the right rear quarter panel of a Chevette (broken wrist). For years, I couldn't ride my hybrid (flat bars) without pain. A couple years ago, by wife talked me into taking yoga classes with her. After that, and turning my brake levers a little further down than stock so my wrists are straight rather than bent, I no longer have issues.

The yoga exercises that seemed to really help my wrists were Downward Facing Dog, Plank, Chaturanga, and Upward Facing Dog.
