    "teach them a lesson"

A Brentwood physician who allegedly injured two cyclists last summer by slamming on his car brakes in front of them on Mandeville Canyon Road pleaded not guilty today.

    A repeat offender, folks.

"Thompson, 59, allegedly told police during the July 4 incident that he stopped his red Infinity sedan in front of the cyclists to “teach them a lesson.”

Hope he gets extra time for being a moron too.

Slamming your brakes and injuring another person isnt teaching them a lesson. Thats Assault with a deadly weapon.

Teaching them a lesson is sneaking up behind the ******* with a little bell who almost ran you off the road 5 minutes earlier and hitting your air horn.

Where's the "d) All of the above" option?

The rider in my avatar is David Etxebarria, not me.

I'll enjoy the comfort of my trainer more now, I think.

There was an old lady in my county that ran over 3 riders, a few years ago, and then backed up and ran them over again. She said she wanted to teach them a lesson too.

I believe it was also reported that he didn't offer any medical assistance to the injured riders.

Somebody should teach him a lesson in "pound you in the ass" federal prison.
Please remember that all statements unless quoted, are strictly my opinion of what happened. That there are as many opinions as there are spectators attending. I just choose to publish mine on this forum. And would NEVER intend to purposely hurt or discredit any other cyclist.... With that said... HTFU!

I have an uncle whom I love very much even tho he calls me a two wheeled organ donar who thinks I should ride my bike on the sidewalk. Amazes me how many people believe cyclist have no rights not just to the road but life.
Best thing about cycling is when I'm at work I'm thinking of cycling, when I'm cycling I'm thinking about cycling.

I used to ride Mandeville once or twice a week. When this happened it was the straw that broke the camel's back. Far too many people I know or have ridden with up that road have had altercations with motorists who don't understand that they don't need to do 50MPH on a curvy residential road with absolutely no shoulder and littered with blind driveways.

Damn shame, cuz it is a great road and a great moderate 5 mile climb...

If I had to chose, it would be belt sander, closest to road rash those two guys got. But all of the above would be the appropriate option.

This is older news but it's awesome that it's getting more publicity.

I've been up Mandeville Canyon plenty of times and it's probably one of my favorite areas to go up riding. Correct me if I'm wrong this guy is out on bail, my guess back in his house on that road. Scares the crap out of me when I go up there wondering if I'm going to be this guy's next victim.

The scarier part is I almost went on that ride. July 4th holiday ride. I probably wouldn't have seen anything though. Those two guys would have dropped me in a heart beat. As for those in the area, does anyone know when the next court date is supposed to be held? I'll definitely try and make it.
