I thought that was a really good post. Particularly the part about spandex and homophobia. The interesting thing about that station is that they appear to be unapologetic. And if you email them, you get a whining reply about how the station manager's sister was killed while riding a bike, as if this excuses them broadcasting "humorous" pieces about doing things that can cause serious injury or death. They really need to answer for some complaints when their license is renewed.

I like what Mr. Green has to say on this subject. It's something like this: "Real men don't need a 3,000lb cage, they ride bicycles."

I think the **** references are usually used instead of calling someone a girl or a female sexual organ/cat. They're implying that you're less of a man than they are. Easy to see from the comfort of your vehicle. I wonder if it's often said in a traffic jam where the cyclist can easily catch you.

Complain to the FCC. It probably qualifies as hate speech (If you can consider occupation a liability I would think you could consider method of transit one too) or some other unprotected form of speech. Radio understands money. There's plenty of money in shock jock crap and there are plenty of fines too.

Velonews Explainer agrees about the FCC. I don't think we have times and dates sufficient for an FCC complaint. This article is actually about a station in Alabama that had a similar broadcast.

A Madison blog had an article about the incidents the bikesnob was talking about.

Great writeup by the OP. I hope bikers in the radio station's area organize and retaliate in numbers, wharrgarbling the radio station host into public humiliation. I would.

This is not pwnage though.

You can't defeat a radio station host by out blogging him, you have to out talk him.
Sorry this is not a win, this is just typing behind someones back.

If you want to hurt a radio station, let their major local advertisers know you do not want to spend your money with them because of their choice to support hatred and violence.
