Dangerous vehicle database

What would be the legal ramifications of an Internet database where you could post incidents?

Something that would be search-able by plate number. You would then know a record of trouble to go to the local police with when you complain.

Libel liability unless you had an independent witness or video evidence.

I doubt it'd be a libel issue if you don't use names and only use license plates and vehicle descriptions. I don't see how you can form a case for libel if you haven't made their name at all obvious.

I also don't see the use or advantage in this. Something for police to submit in court? It wouldn't be very powerful evidence.

We need those super glue tipped darts. Now that's a good bad driver database .

good videos what camera do you use? Also have the videos been scaled down for the internet - i.e. is it possible to make out the numberplates on the raw footage?

Thanks

Daven

Make the videos shorter. It's too hard to find some of the incidents (especially the close passes). I'd say to keep the incident within the first 20 second of the video.

I've done a thorough write up on the camera here http://www.phase7.org/DodgeyDrivers/ATC3K/ATC3K.html Most of the videos (640x480 25fps) were uploaded raw after cutting. I almost always get a registration number from a freeze frame. The highlights video has been extensively edited with format changes (including the ones done by YouTube). The videos are embedded from you tube, try pressing the HQ button if there is one available on the video.

That's what everyones been saying, means going back and editing them all and I wanted to keep the footage leading up to an incident available just in case there was somthing I missed that someone else picked up on. The highlights video is a cut down version of some of the more obvious incidents.
