That's why they're called "shock jocks". If they were not way over-the-top in everything they say who would pay them any attention?

This doesn't appear to be a Clear Channel station, is it? We went through similar problems with a local station. https://www.humantransport.org/bicycledriving/wdcg.htm

The best way to handle this: don't call in or email; go to the station dressed in a suit and tie and ask to speak to the manager. Describe your concern that they are creating a danger to the public and that you hope they will rectify this by airing responsible public safety information about safe and legal cycling. Provide references to such information, such as from the link above, or from the publication Street Smarts, or from a local DOT.

What else is new? Search the A&S forum, and you'll see more then one thread pertaining to similar incidents.

Their program has been on a local talk show station in Boston, substituting for Don Imus. There has been some discussion about it on a local radio talk show blog, most of it unfavorable. FYA:

What Steve said, plus file a formal complaint with the FCC. When they come up to renew their station license, that complaint(s) will be on their record for consideration.

And it's a broadcast from a radio station located in a ghost town known as Detroit. This was probably originally heard by all four of their regular listeners, but thanks to this blog it has been widely heard.

Hey Dx,

"I resemble that remark." See my post to a similar thread on the commuting Forum:

As a native Detroiter, it's sad to see that image of the city displayed. I got my start in the cycling lifestyle there, and I ride in the Metropolitan area about three times a year.
Here in Boston there was a recent rant on talk radio about unruly cyclists, but violence was explicitly diavowed.
