Yesterdays Encounter

I’ve noticed since all the students have flooded into my otherwise small college town that the driver hostility has been on the rise. I’ve got beeped at and yelled at for riding my bike more in the last week then in the entire summer. Anyway yesterday my girlfriend and I were heading home to a cross road after a long steady climb. I was about 100 meters or so ahead when I hear this loud obnoxious long angry beeeeeeeeep so I turn around and it was a Nissan Pathfinder pulled right up beside and behind my GF. I’m pissed! The car races around her up the road to me so I just slow down in the center of the lane and again BEEEEEP ant then the finger and then they take off. The adrenaline was too much for me so I sprinted about .5 miles and sure enough there they are at the stop sign. They were not students but local red necks, far worse. So I pull up to the drivers side and boy were they surprised J Exchanging a few words I notice two half empty bottles of Natural Light beer just casually in the cup holders, this is at 2:30 PM mind you. Nothing like a casual red neck stroll down the country roads drinkin your favorite beer. So I was shocked and went to get the license plate and guess what it was? “SWERVE” can you believe that!!!

Long story short I did not have a cell phone but made it back to my house in half a hour and called the police to file the report. I sure do hope they get them for something.

I'm not sure how some people are able to just get the liscence plate number if they are able to be within arms reach of some of these people. I'm pretty glad I haven't been able to be in that situation cause I'm afraid I'd handle it in less than a civil manner. I hope they get what is coming to them. The sad thing is if they are drunk and get in a wreck they may kill someone other than themselves. Hopefully the cops will get them off the road or be on the lookout for them to pull them.

Natural Light Beer?

Rednecks?

I don't think so. They must have been some other stereotype.

And at least they helped out by having a nice easy to remember number plate. You don't see that kind of courtesy every day.
