Looking for input on Flagstaff (Arizona) PD

I have (another) bike lane that's not really a bike lane story to share:

In real estate, they say, "Location, location, location."

WE need to say, "Education, education, education."

Oh -- and society as a whole needs to get over this ignorant idea that they can safely stop learning at a certain age (for example, 18 or 21... or even the 12-13 that many psychological essays have suggested is the age most people stop maturing!). The day you STOP LEARNING is the day you should start having dirt shoveled over you.

Another gem for my quote collection.

Certainly education is indicated. But what do you do with willful ignorance? It appears to me, because of this and a couple of other incidents i am aware of (and i don't even live there, i'm in Phoenix), to be harassment.

I tend to agree with you on that, AZ -- ignorance begets opinionation, which fuels belligerence and the mistaken actions like that cop did, and like motorists regularly do........

'Prejudice' isn't limited to just race -- the definition of prejudice is 'opinion without basis'; so, if you don't know the traffic laws regarding bikes, and try to 'enforce' your opinion of what they are (or what you think they should be), you are prejudiced against cyclists. And the old excuses -- "they don't obey the traffic laws, run stops/reds/etc." -- don't justify anything.

OK, rant over.

I guess as long as people have, or FEEL they have, the right to be stupid and irresponsible, we're stuck.
