Roll the dice
I was about half way to work this morning. Coming up to a light which turned green. Cars were racked up but the bike lane was free. The law here says you cannot pass a car if it is indicating to turn. I got near the intersection and there was a car indicating so I threw out the picks and pulled up to let him go before me. Just then, this unit blows past me, sitting on her bike like the Queen of England, and made some comment including the word "accident". She blows straight across the intersection. The car dude was a courteous fellow and saw her coming and waited for her before he turned.

considering you guys ride on the wrong side of the road, always surprised you don't have more accidents.

If you were on horseback and wanted to be able to swing a sword with your right hand you'd be in the left lane too. I think the last hold out in north America was Newfoundland where they drove on the left until 1947 (and joined Confederation in 1949).

Sometimes passive motoring encourages aggressive cycling!

For my money, the best drivers on the planet are the truck and bus drivers in Ecuador and Columbia. But boy howdy, do they ever shave it close. At least you can trust them to always be in control and do the right thing. It's a tough skill to learn, trusting someone else. I have yet to have an American motorist earn that level of trust.
