Safety Helmet Fail

This is Africa, 1943. War spits out its violence overhead and the sandy graveyard swallows it up. Her name is King Nine, B-25, medium bomber, Twelfth Air Force. On a hot, still morning she took off from Tunisia to bomb the southern tip of Italy. An errant piece of flak tore a hole in a wing tank and, like a wounded bird, this is where she landed, not to return on this day, or any other day.

No, that's not a fail. That's how you wear it when you don't want to get your face scratched up.

I actually think it's kind of funny that the poor guy's mom snapped the pic before teaching him the right way (assuming he learned the right way immediately after this pic was taken).

I think it's kind of sad that a young tyke is being forced to endure the foam hat embarrassment that many of us avoided in our youth... AND YET WE STILL MANAGED TO GROW TO A RIPE OLD AGE!
