Custom Fit Helmet

One of my wife’s dogs (she has 6!) is a chewing machine. This morning was no exception… My 4yr old daughter’s hard-shell ProTec helmet is now missing the Styrofoam. So if I put a plastic bag over my daughter’s head, then rest the helmet shell on standoffs and spray “Great Stuff” instant foam insulation to fill up the gap she would have a custom fit helmet right!

Riding bike is great, it gives one all kinds of time to come up with GREAT ideas! I bet Einstein was an avid cyclist!

Given what I've read about the actual ability for helmets to protect from impacts, I doubt it's such a bad idea. Though, I would think a new helmet will hold up better over time.

Having actually used a helmet a couple of times for what they are designed for I have learned to disregard what the nay sayers say. They do work I would never take a chance with any child and will only use proper safety equipment. I will bet you that there is a bike group in your area that has child's helmets for cheap.
It is much better to be safe than deal with the consequences
