Venice Beach,CA- Bicycle Path Laws
I ride this bike path all the time, and yet I never knew about this law:
"The Venice bicycle path is a “Class 1″ path. Feel free to remind the bazillion of LAPD officers that will be in Venice this weekend about it!
V C Section 21211 : Obstruction of Bikeways or Bicycle Paths or Trails
21211. (a) No person may stop, stand, sit, or loiter upon any class I bikeway, as defined in subdivision (a) of Section 890.4 of the Streets and Highways Code, or any other public or private bicycle path or trail, if the stopping, standing, sitting, or loitering impedes or blocks the normal and reasonable movement of any bicyclist."
I have to daily navigate pedestrians on this path, "Class 1" baby!!!
Have a safe Memorial Day weekend, cyclists!

Perhaps things have changed, it has been years since I've been on that path. But except for one small section near the South end of Venice I do not recall anyone stoping standing or loitering on the path. Now crossing as if they were the only person in the world or walking like a herd of cattle is a different issue.
