NYC - Cycling Through The New Year

Nice to see that New York Magazine has named the New Year's Eve Critical Mass as one of the Best 25 Ways to spend the New Year
From http://www.newyorkmetro.com/urban/gu...ears/top20.htm

(3.) Think you're gonna hail a taxi tonight? Yeah, right. So why not join hundreds of avid cyclists and inline skaters in the 7th Annual New Year's Eve Party Ride?
The ride starts at Union Square North at 7p.m. for the monthly "critical mass," followed by a party at the Time's Up Space on 49 East Houston Street from 8:30 to 10:20p.m.

Afterwards, meet at the Washington Square Park arch at 10:30p.m. for the big celebratory ride to Central Park's Belvedere Castle—and more music and dancing.10:30p.m. Washington Square Park, Fifth Ave. at Washington Square Park North; 212-802-8222; http://www.times-up.org.

HA HA...

Good one....

I wonder how many arrests are going to be made at this New Year's Eve party ride? Anyway.. Too cold for me to be on a bike, plus you have to cross 42nd street somehow and that should be a jungle!

Zero.

They have no grounds anymore, unless someone violates a traffic law. The parade permit thing was thrown out by a judge. Unfortunately, New Year's Eve is devoted to family so I will be unable to attend... :-\

Permit or not. my guess is NYPD will be too busy with Times Square to be bothered with a bunch of cyclists.

If it's not too cold amd it doesn't snow I might show up.
