Please GOD take this nutjob off the road..
Anyone here a SanFran cop?
https://www.marinatimes.com/2012/07/a...ehaving-badly/
Must be nice to own the road.. personally I hope the local cops arrest her.. admitting to multiple traffic violations and vehicular assault in public..
He did not come "Out of nowhere" people do not apparate except in Harry Potter.. Yes the person on the bike (Note: I do not call him a Cyclist) almost got hit by an SUV that then chased him down and by her own account tried to kill him.. I would have made SURE I bumped the side of the SUV even once almost stopped and called the cops on the crazy lady in the SUV...

I feel ashamed to share this Earth with a piece of garbage like that. We can only hope karma catches up with her sooner than later.
Edit: I should add that I don't feel much more kind towards that biker either... but it's no excuse for her actions.

I donno folks... I think she has a point...
Now no doubt he did not come out of nowhere... but he certainly didn't do his part as a valid road user... at least according to her story.
I have to somewhat agree with her here... cops should be writing tickets for scofflaw road users... be they on bike or in a cage. And by the description of what she went through, she certainly encountered bad attitude cyclist. How many here would repeatedly spit at the same car?
Now on the flip side... driving in San Francisco... give me a break... they have the best public transit system in all of America, and Page and Divisadero and surroundings are well served. She needs to get out of the car.
I stopped at a four-way sign, looked all directions, and proceeded into the intersection. Out of nowhere, a bicyclist flew through the stop sign to my left, riding right in front of me, forcing me to slam on the brakes.
More than ever, I believe it’s time to hold bicyclists accountable for their actions, and that means license numbers that are visible to cops, victims and witnesses – just like on the cars and motorcycles they share the streets with. Police also need to write more tickets. It’s a win-win: hold bicyclists accountable and bring much-needed money to the city. Put some of the money toward bike lanes, bike traffic signals, and bike education.

not feeling charitable towards the bike rider, but this just shows the asymmetry between cyclists behaving badly and motorists behaving badly.

There are several things in her story that don't track. If he appeared out of no where, how does she know he ran the sign? She might not have seen him - it's been proven over and over that drivers are scanning for cars and sometimes just don't see us. It sounded more like she has an axe to ground, decided to pull right of way on him and ignored her duty not to cause an accident.

I hate people with this kind of mentality and fear for our country with them reproducing both literally in regards to progeny and literally in regards to the culture of entitlement they breed.
Also, for those that agree with the woman... Motorists too deserve more freedoms.

Sounds to me like a pair of nutjobs that need to be off the road. IMHO, YMMV

I think that there needs to be a law to keep cyclists from coming out of nowhere - it should be illegal for a cyclist to go nowhere in the first place, then whenever the cyclist is seen by a motorist, he will have come from somewhere.

I know I'm a skeptic, but I am always highly skeptical of these shock value stories. There are a lot of jerk cyclists out there...just like there are a lot of jerk peds and motorists out there. Even taking her story at face value, her behavior stunk. The way she described the encounter, and him seems like BS to me - the idiot cyclist who has nothing to say when being yelled out but spitting and fingering. The righteous heroine lecturing him after pinning him harmlessly to the wall. Too much drama...I'm not buying it.

He may not have come out of nowhere. I had a car guy yell at me the other day. I stopped (trackstand) at a four way intersection (two lanes in all directions and a median) in my neighborhood and waited for a car that arrived shortly before I did to clear. As I was proceeding through the intersection a car to my right started to cross the intersection too. We both stopped in the middle and he yelled at me that I have to stop at stop signs too. I had stopped but he never saw me and just assumed I ran the sign. Sometimes motorist just don't see us. Be careful out there.

Nice idea, but based on the bike lanes that end in the middle of nowhere and start in the middle of nowhere, I think it is pretty common knowledge that cyclists can indeed appear in the middle of nowhere.

(from article) The scrawny, pale, twenty-something with thinning curly dark hair – wearing only Bermuda shorts, a T-shirt and, of course, no helmet – flipped me off and shouted a string of expletives. I felt my Sicilian blood boiling as I kept pace with him. “Why is it you think you’re exempt from the law?

what's scary is she probably exaggerated the cyclist's behavior and diminished the psycho nature of her own.

Spitting technically falls under the heading of assault with bodily fluid in the state of California. Her little trap maneuver with the motor vehicle is definitely an assault with a deadly weapon, and may also be chargeable as attempted murder, though getting it to stick with a jury of motorists would be difficult.
Too bad she didn't have the brains to turn in the DNA before it went to waste. Ideally they should both be in holding cells right now awaiting trial for their crimes, but in practice it probably won't happen.

A couple of years ago, I must have met this woman's sister/cousin/distant relative, thankfully I have yet to meet up with her since.

Here the guy to your right would've had the right of way at a 4-way. It doesn't go in order of who arrived, the person to your right has right of way.
