This is classic... you may even share the road with her.

https://news.yahoo.com/blogs/sideshow...173523817.html
A woman who was caught on video driving along a sidewalk to avoid a stopped school bus has been ordered to wear an 'idiot' sign at the intersection where it happened.

Hardin was arrested on Sept. 11 after a veteran school bus driver Uriah Herron noticed Hardin pull her driving stunt several times and recorded one incident on his cell phone camera.
Remember she has done this several times... perhaps you've shared the road with this "excellent" driver...

Good luck, if you happen to bike in Cleveland. (just look for the sign)

It's a strange way of making a point. I mean I guess I agree, but...

I don't understand why she wasn't simply charged with reckless driving and stripped of her license for longer. Surely this fits the definition of such? Well, maybe not. Laws are funny things.

Watch the video & listen to the explanation. It's beyond bizarre. "She drove on the sidewalk to give the bus driver plenty of room". The fine was a bit light in my opinion. My ex-GF got a $400 ticket for passing a school bus with the red lights flashing. Should have been in the triple digits.

And yet they didn't permanently revoke her license...

Oh well just another example of a world populated by self-entitled and self-absorbed wastes of resources...

Not too long ago I had someone pass me aggressively in a vehicle... I guess I was going too slow in an attempt to stop for a school bus with the stop sign out and the lights flashing. They simply drove right on through, in the process of passing me up. "MUST... PASS... CYCLIST" mentallity.

That judge sentences about as well as the driver drives. The driver may or may not be an idiot but should certainly not have a license for a some extended period, far beyond thirty days.

Gender, I suspect, plays a role. Just my guess, anyway.

She's got one of those T-shirts that says If you don't like how I drive, stay off the sidewalk!

Kind of a weird sentence from the judge, though. It's not like there's an epidemic of sidewalk driving. Seems like they could have just cited her and moved on without the drama. I wonder if the lady had a bunch of tickets and infractions.

As a principle, I don't think public shaming really has a place in our system. But agree that she should have lost her license for looooong time.

I have mixed feelings on the standing there with the sign. A larger fine and possible revocation would have been nice but would probably not change her behavior. Having to stand there with the sign, especially if her friends see her, stands a better chance of teaching her not to do that anymore.

I think it should have a MUCH bigger place in our system.

This reply reminded me of something that happened to me today(11/06), on the way to an appointment. I was passed by a motorist with the same mentality, so I promptly passed the motorist.

Twelve years ago this video would have surprised me, but not anymore. Since I moved to Oregon, I have witnessed that exact maneuver several times, though not always to get past a school bus. Sometimes folks just drive onto the sidewalk around here to get past the traffic; I guess they failed the kindergarten course on taking turns and waiting in line.

Looks like sharing the road would be safer than sharing the sidewalk with her.

Someone on a bike should ride by her while on the sidewalk and yell at her to "get on the road."

What a racist and sexist judgement! By ordering her to wear this sign, it just reinforces the stereotypes that African-Americans are stupid and that women can't drive!

On a different note, how does such a low-IQ moron like this woman drive such a nice car? I'm guessing it's publicly-subsidized in one way or another, if you catch my drift.

I catch your drift, but maybe you should get help for your bipolar condition.
