new and "improved" MUP

my email to NZTA (essentially NZ-DOT)

Attached is a picture of a dangerous situation created recently by SH1 construction in Wellington. Eastbound bicycle traffic using the toucan crossing is lead to a curb-edge.

This is on the MUP at the north-east corner of Taranaki St and Buckle St (SH1).

I hope this can be fixed IMMEDIATELY before someone crashes their bike into the curb. This is especially possible at night.

Thank you
and their reply...
Your query has been forwarded to the NZ Transport Agency Wellington Regional Office for reply. You should expect a response within 5-10 working days.
funny... with all the new construction they didn't put any curbs in any other vehicle lanes

Bet someone comes along and paints the curb edge with red or yellow... that will be their "fix." "It's marked."
