I stumbled upon a review of a movie, and the review is titled "First, Kill All The Cyclists. Premium Rush, Reviewed." Has anyone seen it?

When I saw the promos for it I thought it might be interesting but it absolutely bombed. I have heard very little about it since its release and the few things I have heard have not been good. I wanted to see the movie but I never even saw it advertised in the theaters in surrounding cities and I haven't seen it out on DVD. When I've asked about it at stores or rental places nobody has even heard of it.

It's out on DVD now, since 12/21. It's on Netflix if you have that, and Redbox if you do that.

I haven't seen it, but it's certainly out there if you want to see it.

Reviews on it weren't so bad, but not so great either.

I saw it on the Interweeb the other day...
The mantra of the main character, Wylie (named after that crazy coyote), who is a NYC bicycle courier :
"I like to ride. Fixed gear. No brakes. Can't stop. Don't want to, either."
It's pretty cheesy. Lots o' bad acting. There are a couple of good chase/race scenes with interesting camera angles.
Overall it was a fun movie to watch. Glad I didn't have to buy tickets to see it though!
3.5 bent fixie frames out of 5.

Worth a buck to see from redbox and they like. Different kind of bad cop movie. Much of the bike action was ridiculous, such as a bike race between a geared carbon road bike and the movie hero's fixie, where the fixie keeps up with the geared bike.

Good movie, pure escapism. Reviewers who use it to promulgate their hatred of cyclists are in their own little world and should be ignored.

As for the review, meh. Maybe it's just where I live (Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex), but the majority of folks, here talk the same way about cyclists. I have friends, family and co-workers who, even knowing how much I ride, can't hide their disdain for cyclists, when talking to me. I guess I've developed a pretty thick skin about it, so ignorant rants about cyclists don't bother me much.

As for the movie, it was kind of fun. Formulaic? Yes. Fantasy? Yes. Escapism? Yes. Factually questionable? Yes. Corny? Absolutely. But still a fun watch.
Some of y'all know, I was hit by a car last May and when this movie came out, I was not even back to work yet. My wife refused to go see it. She felt like it would hit a little too close to home. So, I took our teenage kiddos to go see it. When the closing credits started, my daughters, 14 and 15 years old, both stood up and said, "Dad, we we want to be bicycle messengers! That was AWESOME!"
So, this probably hit the mark with a teen demographic more than with adults.

MMach I have to add, even off-topic, that I watched it under the same circumstances, took my teenager and still wearing a sling because it was the day after I had my collarbone plated. My wife also refused, and still does.

I've already expressed my opinion of the review, a couple of posts up. As far as I could tell there was no one in the theater that hated cyclists, let alone applauding the bad cop hate you line or laughed at the crashes or what have you. I think the reviewer is projecting, or more likely making stuff up.

I watched it on netflix I believe...it's silly but fun. Like most movies.

The reviewer is an idiot, but let's remember his job is to watch movies and write about them. You can't expect much from someone like that.

Very true. Our fellow movie goers did not seem to be hateful towards cyclists.
And, while I say I have a thick skin, my feeling that the majority of my state hates what I do reveals that I'm a bit more sensitive than I'd probably like to admit.

My wife and I saw it in the theaters. We liked it. When I got my wife her first adult bike a few weeks ago and she started riding it, she commented that she wanted to see the movie again. So we bought it on Blu-Ray. Still like it. Wish there were more extras on the disc but oh well. It's still entertaining.

I'm not so massively picky about movies like some people are.

I liked it too. Kind of got me pumped for getting out on the roads and streets and out of the office B.S. Yeah the fixie beating out the geared carbon fiber bike hit home for me. They do it to me all the time. Maybe it's my age!
