Commuter killed, Vancouver BC, (Lions Gate Bridge/Stanley Park area)

    http://www.theprovince.com/news/vanc...451/story.html

61 yr old woman commuting on MUP. Lost balance somehow and fell onto roadway...hit by a bus and died instantly. Probably clipped a pedestrian and fell.

It wasn't on the Lions Gate Bridge, but just south of it, on the Stanley Park causeway (which is not really a causeway). The causeway has a MUP that doesn't see many pedestrians at all compared with the rest of the park.

    RIP

This kind of accident, almost happened to me. I was stupidly riding on the sidewalk a couple years ago. When I lost my balance and fell into the adjacent road. There were no pedestrians around.

When it happened to me, I clipped the edge of a newspaper vending machine, that stuck out past the edge of the bus stop shelter I was going around. Damn near got my head squished by an Oldsmobile!
