I wish we were allowed to ride on interstates here. I'm 100% sure that it would be safer than the roads we're actually allowed to ride on, which have zero shoulder, are in poor repair, have many corners that don't give good sight lines, and have 55 to 65 MPH traffic on them. By contrast the interstates here have 20 foot wide breakdown lanes separated by rumble strips and are glass smooth with very little debris.

Is this the 105 in SoCal? You can ride on many freeways in California, but that's not one on them. Not that big a deal, just that the drivers aren't used to bicycle there.....and CHP might have a little talk with you.

I've got video of me on an RD 400 powered bar stool on the 91 freeway.... bad boy....you shouldn't do that...

This is an embarrassingly pathetic attempt to make a legitimate point. Unfortunately, it's awkwardness far outweighs any benefits of advocacy.

While I wouldn't ride on a highway, legal or not. My big problem with the video was, the noise. I couldn't even hear the traffic clearly. It sounded like being in a tunnel.

Interesting way to end a bike video.

The issue with riding Interstate-like highways are the exit/entrance ramp transitions. Really easy for a novice rider to cause or be part of a huge high speed car accident.

You're right. If there was a point at all it may be one I am applying to it so I could be inaccurate. But I think the point might be that getting around in LA on freeways in motor vehicles is a pointless, frustrating, inefficient use of resources compared to the ease and fun of doing so by bike.

I think the videographer was hoping to advocate for people to abandon their cars and take to the road on a bike.

But, as I said, in my previous post his attempt was so lame and pathetic that he more than likely makes those who ride a bike in LA appear to be on the outer fringes of sanity.

I don't think there was a point to be made. I just liked the video because it showed a person riding a bike on a congested LA freeway (which is illegal), but harmless. I tend to like people who do things that are illegal but harmless to other human beings.

There's nothing wrong with riding on a freeway (especially a congested one), but I don't understand why he felt the need to ride so far left most the time.

(I-5 in Washington state - don't get too dizzy watching)

It looked like an easy, no-brainer ride on a wide shoulder. My take on the OPs intent was: "Look how easy! Why is this illegal?"

I also have a soft spot for civil disobedience.
