POSITIVE news story about cycling
 

I interrupt the usual accounts of harassment, bloodshed, attacks, road rage, danger, and discrimination with this positive story about a business owner who was encouraged to bike to work on a Bike To Work Day, and has since persuaded his entire staff of four to also bike to the office.

My dentist in Davis, CA started riding his bike to work a decade or so ago. Neither of us has convinced any of his staff to follow his lead. His staff don't know what to think of the 750 mile bike trips my wife and I take to our dental appointments, but my dentist understands why we do it.

Wow. My dentist thought my 15 mile trip to and from her office was something. Actually, so did I.

You don't get your teeth cleaned twice a year, do you?

Most years we do. This year I missed one appointment when we got a late flu. Hundreds of people along the route were spared infection by our decision to stay home.:lol:

He must be a really good dentist. :)

My dentist's staff is always surprised when I ride up to the office. And then I get to hear the story from the dentist about how he used to ride to class in dental school.
