The driver will come forward once s/he sobers up if it looks like s/he will get caught.

This cyclist was the father of a friend's friend. I didn't know the guy, I don't live in the area but I know the family is devastated and is hoping for the driver to be located.

My condolences. This is despicable. I was noticing today on my ride, when I was in a 20mph zone at one point and actually going faster than the speed limit. That vehicles were crossing the double-yellow line, regardless of the speed limit, because the couldn't stomach being behind a cyclist that was speeding.
