helmets
HI was wondering wich helmet is safer right now i have a bell helmet that only cover the top half of your head but what about the lower half I was thinking i should get a full face helmet to protect my whole head as i have had a few recent spills. Any input would be appreciated thanks.

What kind of riding do you do? I use a regular helmet for everything but BMX at the track. For that I use a full face helmet, as required by track rules. If you crash a lot, I think you need to look at why you crash, not just a hlemet upgrade. If you crash trying to do BMX stunts or freestyle tricks, I'd go for a skateboard style hard plastic lid. By design, they seem better suited to multiple small impacts, where a bike helmet that has a thin plastic cover impact absorbing foam should be replaced after a crash.

I am usually crashing from mountain biking going down a hill and i slow down and don't have enough speed to get over a log or i get stuck in a rut i can usually put my hands out to stop the impact.

I don't think a full face helmet will provide any added benefits. It sounds more like low speed tumbles to me. One of the plastic helmets that cover your ears, like a skate helmet, would probably be best then. They seem designed to withstand multiple small impacts. They won't be the best choice for absorbing energy, but it seems like your concern is keeping stuff like branches and rocks from banging up your head, not from keeping your head from splitting on a hard object.

Maybe a full face with goggles would do the trick then. Or duck a lot.

I have a visor, and I always wear glasses, but sounds like you're riding in some overgrown area. We don't have that problem here. As long as someone goes in front of you to clean up the spider webs, it's all good.

i ride with a giro madmax II full face hemet, ya its a bit hot but only on the climbs but it has lots of vents(for a ff helmet) so it keeps me cool on the DHs. i find this helmet very comfortable and have never looked back. for the type of riding it sounds like you do a normal helmet and some riding glasses should work fine. but thats up to you

Thats a good way to break your arm.
Are you just sticking it out trying to catch yourself, or is it somewhat planned?
When i broke my arm, thats what happened to me. Try to kind anticipate how youre gonna land when this happens.
