Paint & Safety

I was just think about getting on of those green jackets that are so bright, when the thought hit me that I should paint by bike the fireenige green I see with the newer trucks. Do you think I could find it at a local store? Would it help?

Thanks,
TrikeMan

When I see a cyclist from my truck in daylight the first thing I notice is movement, then the head, shoulders and torso. How these are positioned and/or moving tells me bike or ped. The bike, and particularly the color of the bike, is the last thing I notice. Of course if the cyclist is running with lights then that's the first thing I notice. Usually I don't notice the color of the bike until I'm passing. If the bike is crossing in front of me I still notice movement first, then the head, body and position before anything else.

The wife tells me pretty much the same thing and likes me to wear white, bright yellow or orange from the waist up. Which is how I got the FFO (family financial officer) to okay the Roadrunner and Here Comes the Sun Primal Wear jerseys.

Road workers in Europe wear the bright green on their work clothes. It's quite visible.

The green really stands out from the rest of the visual noise on the roads

If you like bright orange, think about a Euskatil team jersey. www.bicyclinghub.com sells these.

Get the jacket or vest. Much more noticable than a yellow/green bike.
