I love seeing that.

I live in a semi-rural community, many of the roads lack sidewalks, which is why, if they want to go anywhere, the motorized wheelchair crowd are traveling on the street.

They seem to have no issue with taking the lane and I have yet to see a motorist begrudge them the space or do bonehead passes around them.

Exactly. Maybe I missed it, but no intelligent discussion here for sure. Just call your political opponents fat and stupid, even if they're not.

How dare us inject financial responsiblity into a spending discussion.

Lord knows, the current administration has worked wonders with THAT system.

Every administration has... not a single administration has ever taken care of returning vets from wars that the administration supported. It is just not factored into the price of fighting a war.

There were programs for education and housing for returning WWII vets... but what happened to the wounded? Recent advances in emergency field medicine have led to a larger influx of wounded vets... that again no administration has bothered to plan for. Not GWB, not Obama. Even now some republicans are calling for increased action in Iraq while others are calling for cuts for programs that aid vets.

Quote:
Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL) spoke for the group of 41 GOP obstructionists when he said, “This bill creates new veterans’ programs and it’s not paid for—it’s all borrowed money.”
Wars are fought with "borrowed money..." but but no way we can help those that "went into harms way" with "borrowed money."

Am I bitter about this... yes... I am a Vietnam Era Vet that had my GI Bill benefits cut by Reagan... I was directly affected by this mentality. And it isn't just Republicans... but they tend to be hawks, and some of the worst hypocrites about this sort of thing.
