Whoah! Easy there, Tex. Maybe you should lay down 'til the feeling goes away.

He's got a point and not trivializing anything. One news report referred to the intentional running down and murder of the soldier in Quebec as "killed in a car accident." Geesh!

Yeah, me too, though new signs here say 15 km/h (~9 mph) so it might happen if they ever enforce it. I'll be proud to pay it and frame the ticket as a sign of my stupendous athleticism.

I will say this, for the MUPs around DC.

after dark, they're infrequently used by people but frequented by animals...

some of them can be fun.

Years ago, in Jr High or High School, I participated in a TT race on the bike trail. Whew... what a stupid idea that was. A bunch of young kids going all out on a winding bike path with a lot of other unsuspecting trail users.

Anyway, I signed up for Strava a few weeks ago. I've mainly only been turning Strava on for a few short segments and hard training rides, but I decided to leave it on for some rides along the bike paths.

To my surprise, I snagged a dozen or so short segments.

Most of the segments KOM speeds are around 25 MPH, but a few have KOMs up to just over 30 MPH. A couple segments are on wide sections of the trail (12 to 20 ft wide). But, some are hitting the narrow sections of the trail too.

I may try some max effort rides along the straight wide sections of trail, but not where it is too busy.

Anyway, I was thinking that Strava should block out all times greater than 20 MPH, and treat all fast riders as a single group with a single time.
