The helmet thing did strike my interest once I saw the advertising on the electric bike. But the electric thing was my first thing. Once I noticed that the entire advertisement video had zero helmet usage with the actors, I wondered about helmets. So it actually was a second thought. The De Jong paper I thought was worthy to read and it did in a way relate to the video. Then I tried to find any comments on the De Jong paper. And came up with that by the Institute.

Discussing a published paper takes the "what's your point" question away from my own viewpoint and onto the paper itself. That's the way it should be. Even though the Institute questioned some of the paper's basic underlying assumptions, it did not attempt to reach a conclusion. Without that, it would not pass "peer review".

I was actually going to email De Jong but ran out of time with the holidays and all.
