hi i'm a bike enthusiast from SF, Ca and i've been riding mountain bikes for about 20yrs. Just a couple years ago i got into choppers and beach cruisers and wanted to share one of my builds. Although it's not an old bike I tried to capture that spirit the best I could and tried to keep it simple. Aside from the frame and fork only a few parts are stock the rest are parts that i've put on to upgrade and make it more of my own... since i live in San Francisco i converted it from a 3 speed to an 8 speed so i can tackle most of the hills here with ease. Here is my Nirve Switchblade enjoy!

SFCYCO, nice bike. I t seems very utilitarian. I'm strangely mesmorized by the pedals!
Youi mentioned that it's an 8-speed, but it looks like a singlespeed. How do the gears work on it?
Regards,
Cully_J

Look closer at the hub. It appears to be a Nexus 8 IGH. He does a great job at hiding the cables.

thanks
Yes it is a Shimano Nexus 8... the gears are housed internally within the rear hub which means only one sprocket is needed on the outside (smoothest gear changes i've ever experienced) and very fast in top gear. Thanks for noticing the cable routing, hidden behind the vintage plate is a shifter cable feeding to the hub. The pedals are for a mountain bike and the other components are parts from different cycling disciplines. I'm getting a cruiser frame from amsterdam in a few days and your all invited to check out the build blog on my website to see a Basman346 Cruiser frame come to life one component at a time @ https://www.sfcyco.com/sanfranciscocy...blog/blog.html
thanks again for your interest and i hope you enjoy my future builds in the blogs to come

Some may have seen this but here is my alternative whip! KOTA identified it and I believe him to be accurate about it being a 24" Sears Spaceliner Frame with a 20" Murray Firecat front end. Had her for 18 years now but I'm fixing to restore/re-do her. New chrome and NOS seat from 70's-80's which is yellow with a rainbow and weird graphics. Gonna through some spokes on her also.

The Type 10 has gotten more stuff added to it's frame. Just to give a brief overview, it started as a 2000 model year Diamondback 6061 alloy BMX frame. A front platform was added in 2002, followed by a fiberglass seat post and banana seat. Then a Fairing was placed on the front of the front platform (recycled; from a 1982 Suzuki). The bike was converted to three speeds with a Sturmey Archer Hub.
Lights were installed, but had to be disconnected for the latest modifications. A set of rear panniers were made of Coroplast.
Now, a set of roll bars have been installed. There is a reflective triangle on the back, and another small plastic crate below the triangle.
Here we go with the pictures, which were taken with a mirrored wall back drop:
If I missed any camera angle, look at the mirror in the background.
This bike is really a heavy hauler. The front platform is mounted to the head tube and can hold 100+ pounds, and now the bike has rear panniers. There is also a small set of Coroplast boxes in the front, which are new, so the lead/acid batteries don't need to be strapped down with "bungee cords" anymore.

my new rat bike. while not stretched or chopped or any individual piece altered, it was a full frame-up build from the parts bin and i couldn't be happier. it's pretty much dead on what i envisioned.

Here is a semi-alt bike. It is a new Nirve Clutch Chopper that I picked up from a guy that had it leftover from his old bike shop.
It is kid size right now. I may slap a banana seat and sissy bar with a long seatpost on it. Or I amy just use the fork on a 26" rat rod bike.
Maybe I could even put a 26" fork on it and add a 26" homemade longtail to the back.

Beautiful Schwinn, wearyourtruth. How much money do you think you've spent putting it together?

Love the old muscle bikes. I had a Screamer 2 in 68. Nice pimped out Chopper there. I am thinking about putting the forks from the Nirve chopper I posted earlier on a 79 26" Schwinn Spitfire 5 and maybe adding a banana seat and sissy bar to make it an adult size muscle bike.
