Wheelie Bar

Anybody remember the wheelie bars of the 60's?
Have any stories to tell?

The only wheelie bars I remember in the '60s were attached to the back of very powerful cars to keep the front ends down. Do you mean sissie bars?

no, i mean a Wheelie bar for laying back on the sissy bar and ride!
FRont wheel totally off the ground.

I remember those. We considered them to be unmanly. A REAL Wheelie King didn't need one. You could tell a Wheelie King by the knots on the back of his head.

When we were kids, Dad worked at Sears part time and brought home banana seats and ape hangers to "convert" our bikes into stingrays. One day he brought home one of these wheelie bars. Before it was even installed, Mom objected and we never seen the thing again. Thankfully we quickly learned to wheelie the proper way!
