The Rat Patrol makes bikes out of junk. We make choppers out of mop handles. We bolt them. We jam pipes together and ride around force-fitted only. One guy did indeed JB weld his chopper together and rode to the airport and back.

Alt bikers live to weld up junk and ride it till it breaks. We're not quivering, safe people terrified of living life. We bite life by the throat and live hard and die young. We add saw blades to our bikes for extra cuttyness. We drill speed holes to weaken the frame. We build bikes we know won't work, or will be unrideable, just to try it out. What about the Cyclecide bike that punched you in the face when you rode? How safe was that? We make spanking bikes and flipping bikes and fire breathing bikes and jet powered bikes. We tallbike joust and play whiplash and jump our bikes into the lake and zoobomb and crash into each other. We break legs and sometimes we die but damn if we aren't enjoying ourself EVERY SINGLE SECOND OF LIFE.

And what of the fat suburban internet surfer, who builds nothing but tries to hide it with haughty criticism of our action? "Cricitism is false participation". You can always sound smart if you just **** on someone else's art, right? Well, nobody here is falling for it. Everyone will agree that yes, if you were making a titantium rocketship or NASCAR car, you would need to have nice deep penetration. But they also agree that that chopper I made is FRICKIN SWEET.

Besides, what do you want to stay alive so bad for? Your miserable, failed marriage? Your soul-sucking career? Your spoiled, ungrateful, unloving kids? Your measly 401k? Your ****ty car and ****ty house in the suburbs? What exactly are you clinging to life for? Obviously if you're trolling around internet forums that you have no positive contribution to, you're not out there living life. "I would get out there and make a sweet bike, but what if the welds are bad? What if my mad max stupid crazy crash machine gets a little crack and I have to reweld it? Booo hooo hooo!" Rat Patrol, and alt-bikers, live life. We grab it by the throat. We're not afraid to live. We have something worth living for. What the **** are you sticking around this planet for? You're certainly not contributing to the species. Why not weld a nice, fancy, safe, weird-beard recumbent and take a long ride off a cliff?

I just fabricated the wide bottom bracket that will let me get the chain around that fat rear wheel. After that I just need brakes.

The rear wheel is bolted with the lug nuts onto a plate, which has a solid live axle with a freewheel and pillow block bearings. It lets me change the tire. I'll get a picture.

P.S.

Right on, JP !!!

It seems alot of people dont understand what 'Fun' or 'Life' is because you cant
get it in Carbon Fiber or buy it with a credit card.

We are trying to keep the alt. forum un-A & S'ish or Roadie .
If you cant add anything positive or dont understand that
this is art over function when someone shows thier work,
why are you here ? There are other forums to discuss welding
and other stuff if you need to. Please show some respect in
this forum. Thanks in advance.

Or true ignorance. They want to die young, They want to be injured by their lack of fabrication skills? They drill holes in things to make them break easier? Wow, is all I can say.. Oh and before you go spouting something about my life JP, here's an alt. of mine. You don't have to be dangerous or endanger yourself to build alt bikes, IMHO.,,,,BD

Yes it's also incomplete, and may stay that way forever. Oh well, that's life....

That thing has a big spike on it! Do you have any idea how dangerous that is? You could be impaled and killed to death!!!

I really don't give a crap about Johnny's welds, or different peoples attitudes to bike culture, but I do like the underslung chopper idea. Oh yes I do......
