Building a "BOB" style hitch?
So I made a chariot and it has a simple hitch that ties on to the seat tube. This is wrought with problems though, and I want to try building a hitch like the BOB trailers have. Should be pretty easy just using a rear triangle and a headtube off another bike.
What do you think? Does the pivot need to be exactly vertical as in a swing bike? If so, how can I make it work with my different wheel-sized bikes (700cc, 26", 16") as the wheel sizes would cause the pivot to be at different angles.
Thanks!

I think you'll need some give/pivot horizontally as well, not just the vertical or close to vertical pivot otherwise it won't track properly through turns.

Since the bob style hitch doesn't allow the bob trailer to tilt left and right (relative to the bike) you'll have to make sure to add tilting flexibility, if you're using a two-wheel trailer.

errr, yes, you are exactly corect. I knew there was a reason I posted and got drunk and rode bikes instead of welding for 2 weeks. Thanks for noticing the flaw before I spent the welding time!
