    OH CRAP! I've only been trying to figure this out for two weeks and that was it?

    Still not perfect...close the fullly enlarged selected pic and you close BF!

    There's your Rollfast then.

    Yeah, to close the pic enlargement, just click anywhere else on the screen and the pic reverts to the thumbnail.

    Glad to see you got the images up, rollfast!

    You, me and McHale's Navy!

    Our first snow of substance fell overnight here. Looks like I'll be indoors for a day or two until the hockey drivers are all gone.

    Small and surmountable goof...the rear bracket on the chainguard is on upside down

    Back to the sign shop to fix that. I ALMOST had that finished!

    New 'family' members soon. Ross ladies cruiser rustoration. Not really a restoration but you know me.

    Also a 50s 26" ladies Schwinn. Might be easier as everything was there but the horn button. NOT rusty, NOT primered.

    NEWS FLASH! I added the J.C. Higgins for another $20 to pick up at the top of the month...I already have a simple but pretty paintjob figured for the Ross toward the spring...lots of work to keep me going.

    The guy with the two bikes called today.

    He said just pick them up!

    The theme for all three of the bikes I'm getting is Fruit and Creme.

    The Ross is Black Cherries and Creme.

    The Higgins is Peaches and Creme.

    The Schwinn is light blue and white already: Blueberries and Creme.

    I also wish I owned the Monkeemobile, off hand.

    And the chainguard came back with the rear bracket right side up so it is now INSTALLED!

    I'm installing Christmas Dinner with Mom and Dad as the charity gave me not only a lot for myself but enough to supply the whole dinner for Mom to cook. A friend is dropping it off on their way to their family and I'll get picked up Friday. Mom made a sweetenerless apple pie for me on Thanksgiving and I though it was so good I'm sending some of the great apples I was given to do it again.

    Happy Holidays everybody! I got home a while ago with the two bikes and while the J.C. Higgins is a 26 x 1.75" bike I have to get a light on the one remaining tire on the other as it's deteriorated (ruined) and only had one wheel. It looks rather small though.

    The sizes are:
    J.C. Higgins 26 x 1.75"
    Ross 24 x 1.75"

    The tires were folded over badly and a mess (especially the Ross') and it was hard to find the size on the Ross but they were ALL a Japanese made brand called 'The Silver Star" and bore the name "VINYLON" as the material the cords were made of a synthetic I would suppose. Somebody put new tires on both at the same point (not the previous owner as he got them that way). The lone tire on the Ross has an insect? cocoon and there was the stub of an expired wasp's nest under the front fender. The Higgins seat is more than busted and you cannot lift with the seat plate as it would come apart (on the right side with the complete spring). None of the rust I observed looked fatal, probably easily cleaned.

    The Ross has a Mesinger somebody sloppily painted blue over original white to mimic a Schwinn but looks okay physically and the springs are fine (maybe a little stiff). My old Persons on the Western Flyer is nicer though. Neither are anything I like. The Ross' rack is getting a little bent up from being moved around alot and a new bracket would truly help.

    So, on to finishing a Rollfast and a Ross Rustoration and a happy Higgins.

    The snow is settling in at this very hour but I am working, getting parts and getting the Schwinn I showed you the other day. Bills cometh nary a day from today and I shall be pondering transportation options here, in Fruitland and Payette...I hope it's brief and settles in.

    Last week I was out on the snow/ice for a short time and *something* caused a flat. I never saw it but the front tire of my Schwinn was FLAT and I couldn't afford to replace ir right now (slimed tubes don't patch) so I readied the Western Flyer.

    Within a day I became aware of a big problem.

    I couldn't keep the left pedal ON and soon I found why: When the left pedal finally was about to fall off and I removed it I found...

    THE RIGHT PEDAL.

    Mom took care of this about 2 months ago when the crank was replaced and I doubt she did that as she always pointed it out to me. So how??? It was nigh impossible for me to accomplish ONE by accident...

    It will be a while. Mom is trying to take care of Dad and his lung cancer and I'm a ways off from having money not meant for finishing other obligations.

    Toby, the guy at the clinic that had all the bikes took the Schwinn and the AMF Roadmaster Nimble 3-speed and the set of new pads, two hand brakes from the Hawthorne (one with fairly good pads and that might help on the Schwinn) new cables, a chain tool, two NEW Huffy 26 x 1 3/8" tires and the handlebars/stem that were left in the original bike pile plus a good road bike seat for the AMF. He will finish them up and I gave back for all I used.
    ~~~~~~
    I had wondered why the ride to Payette and back to get some electronics worked on and bring some groceries back was a bit laborious...
    The paperboys are attached at the middle hole and not the end hole! By the time I noticed I was home and back again from getting medicine refills.
    I was rubbing at least part of the time...call me Hercules?
    ~~~~~

    I bought a electric sander for $5 at a secondhand store and coarse sandpaper to work on the Ross' paint and rust and now I need some masks. At some point I will figure where the chain, screws and other parts are at (in a bag) and the Rollfast will get assembled minus the fairing...sorry that I am swamped.
