Badge is on the way and soon my Delta light shell.

    It's like a two-year long movie, huh?

It snowed good Monday and I expect a hockey match on the streets today.

I found an X-53 tank I have next to no chance at now. Oh, it's still at under $10 but with no money orders allowed that's moot. I'll even have enough at that time if it stays put. More keyboard abuse searching.

Glad to see it's still coming along. Certainly this is the most long-lived thread in this forum.

Don't forget that it took 4 years to get all the parts for a pair of Altec Stonehenge I towers from 1975 or so and I still have to finish assembling them and find the most correct grille fabric (not plain old polyester you know) and until this week I've had eBay to help but the phaseout on money orders and checks is completing this month and I will never mess with Paypal ever and was stupid enough to use credit cards 13-14 years ago. Money orders are the only payment I deal with as they are actually paid for with MONEY.

    Weird concept? EHH

The Delta light shell came and Bicyclebones has served me well once again No rotten spots and the rust is quite cleanable. This is quite a wait but worth it. I have time to catch up all the other happy heart attack fun while I am at it and I have Kayleigh when the road clears some.

By the way, does that X-53 tank actually fit on my Flyer?

NEEDED FOR KAYLEIGH...I am looking for information or plans/mounting instructions to assist me in constucting a handmade tank for a Western Flyer.

I can use a "WAMCO WINNER" turn signal kit and mount the horn and battery box in it and run a headlight and taillight also, all in one package.

The WAMCO kit was a dollar and like new and the sheet metal was also a dollar. It looks as if the Honda taillight I have will fit inbetween the amber signal on the metal strip they mount on and that to the fender mount, leaving enough room for paperboys. Mount the 9 hole rack to the paperboy frame and bingo. Only a larger front basket and mounting a Delta light shell on a longer chrome front fender and Kayleigh would be finished.

Nothing's happen since it was a can job and it's been painfully cold and on top of that after over a year of it being disassembled I'm about ready get back on it but have to wait. I just got ahold of the painter and I think our LBS guy may have a small hangup on his brother...

Hey, I'd bet I was a far worse black sheep in my family anyway. It's been a long winter and now over a year since I rode Tempest. I've got to keep working and on top of that I really wanted that car to be here also before my birthday in June. I'm sorry, car-free people but I can't run a century and the cold is do bitter that my back and muscles get in an uproar now and then. I had to call the paramedics for the first time in a long while last week to make sure the pains weren't a heart attack and go to sleep. I've become a night sleeper and day person again for the most part and that helped a lot.

I'll get a shot or two of the WAMCO WINNER, mostly assembled and waiting for batteries and add it. This is a 12V system and will be easily adapted for the Rollfast when I get another.

Working is pretty important in this economy, so take care of that and everything else will flow from that.

Work is house work, fixing and setting up stuff in here, etc.

I got a very nice white Wald front basket (Kay-basket, K?) today and I'm very pleased, lookinng on the Wald website to find paperboys like it, it's a really nice touch and badly needed. As you can see I went shopping and got a lot more than I thought I could in it!

I'm working on getting a long chromed fender and mounting my lights on the front and back and I discovered how small the cantilever gap really is...the battery pack must go SIDEWAYS and than means much wider and bulbous tank walls than I thought. As long as the horn fits too...

I am brainstorming the design right now. I am having a good bit of fun out there despite the chilly air. Kayleigh is rolling quickly too

Same bat time and channel until DTV I guess.

I will be working on Kayleigh and have some updates this week but that isn't the news.

One bit of news is that I intend to make this my general spot for bicycling news about me and other things I fancy. I have seen the number of views in this thread and it blew my mind and really humbled me. You guys have been real friends since I showed up here and I can't thank you enough.

That still isn't the major news. You'll have to hang tight, or don't hang if your shoulders are bad

    This is Rollfast's week!

That Delta light I bought has got the bezel made from an old desk telephone mouthpiece cap and it's dremeled for a lens piece, which is being installed and nearly ready for paint or vinyl wrapping. I located another fender lamp for 25 dollars and I mean VINTAGE! Waiting to hear back.

I am buying a Sony Handycam CCD-TR105 (stereo!) with extra battery, charger, manual, case and 5 tapes for 45 dollars! YEAH!

(Boy, if I could just get capture to work).

This means REAL videos from steadfastcoward on You Tube...

This is from a bike I found that is later, 1960s and has what looks almost like a tank for a GIRLS bike! Still, it gives me ideas of what is required to made a full tank for a small cantilevered gap and with the requirement that the 8x'C' battery pack needs to he horizontally installed in order to fit. See the images below...

This is the light. It's plastic and uses AA batteries but fortunately looks paintable and also like my 12V light type will swap in there with few problems. It cost $25 dollars but I have no complaints because where am I to find anything like it on such short notice anyway? By contrast the like new thrift store PL-13 fluorescent lamp on a telescoping adjustable arm I bought this week cost $3.50 and tax, needs no mods and was about $5 cheaper than replacing the lamp on the other one I have (but I still plan on it so I can light my work). I got a like new Panasonic microwave the last time I was there for $15.50+tax so it was a happening and groovy week to be in Payette, Idaho.

Then there is the Sony CCD-TR105 Handycam I bought for $45, 6x zoom and stereo recording and once I get to where I can actually CAPTURE full motion video I will put some REAL clips on You Tube!

The only thing I didn't like about buying the Sony was that the fellow had to sell it because he was laid off!

    More later...

Well, the 8 mm camcorder works...I ought go out and try it. Still can't get it into a computer yet.

My baby sister also had a clot problem with her arm and was taken to Portland but she's back home awaiting the results. Her husband is worried sick. Both of my sisters married really good men and at 37 I should hope she'll be better.
