First saw that on Top Gear. IIRC Hammond took it around their test track since he is infatuated with Porsche, and he is a bicyclist as well. He seemed to get winded without gaining too much speed or mileage, but I too find it impressive.

Not sure when it aired, but I found this.

It's not enough carbon fiber. PVC is heavy, epoxy-reinforced-carbon-fiber is not. Frame could be lighter too.

I actually do want to build a velo out of a tadpole trike recumbent.
