Just picked this up. http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=273048

Ordered 22" ape hangers already.
Now I'm looking into swapping the gearing. I cant make it up the hill on the way home.
Can you point me to any canadian online retailers for parts**********

I have only found chain gang lowrider located in calgary I think.

Thank you.

It's looking nice. Do you have an internally geared hub? A range of gears might help.

looks good. i mostly ride a stretch myself.

i like a seat with a backrest, since you can't stand over the pedals for extra push. i cobbled up my own from an exercise seat, but i see ones like this on ebay all the time

some people don't like the derailleur hanging down, but adding the back wheel and gears from a mountain bike is about the cheapest way to get gears. depending on how the frame is made, or what brake bosses or whatever it may have, adding brakes could be a challenge though.

I put a 4spd internal hub on mine, I think the length of the chain would make adding a derailleur more difficult. I have a lot of bikes but this one is stilll my favorite.

Thank You for the replies.... Still haven't found anymore canadian online retailers. My dealings with chain gang lowrider were a pleasure. All parts shipped undamaged and extremely quick... However they don't have any internal geared wheel sets available. Still looking. I put a 22 tooth rear sprocket and it is better but still not good enough for my lazy self to get up the hill.

I have decided to not get 144 spoke wheels and have opted for an internally geared hub instead. Now I just have to find everything.
I would like a nexus 3 speed hub with shift head and cable (shifter not required, want to have jockey shifter built). 12 gauge spokes for my fluffy self, and black rims with thick whitewall tires. Anything I'm missing or any recommendations where to purchase in canada**********

Appreciate the help!

The chain on my Stiletto doesn't like to be downshifted at speed and has jammed next to the frame more than once.

Have you considered SRAM automatix hub? No Kick back, it just shifts at about 7mph if I recall correctly. No cables to route :-)

Just picking up a donor bike this weekend. It has a sturmey archer 3 speed I will be using along with a custom made jockey shifter for below the seat. Also using its whitewall tires and a chrome front fender. I will post some pics when Im done. Gimme like a week....
