Should I spend a dime on this thing?

Sorry, can't post a pic directly on mobile. But anyway, found this at an antiques/oddments shop today. It rides pretty nicely, though the brake doesn't work right now (if a fixed cog could be put on it, that would obviate the problem). I'm considering snagging it. The dude wants $65 and I'd start haggling at $40.

no thanks. looks like its more for show than riding. it has to roll like a tank.

depends. i would, but for that much i'd have to have an idea burning a hole in my head that just really needed one of those to do it (and i mean smoke coming out of my ears). but just offhand, no. they're just parts bikes for me, and i have a couple already. it'd need to be about half that price for me to even consider it.

It's an old Schwinn. Minus fender, chainguard, original paint job and saddle. So as a collectable, it's nothing. But if you like it, go for it. I wouldn't offer over 25 to start, go up to 40 if you must. At least in Sarasota, you won't encounter a hill.

I have an old Giant Stiletto chopper. It's a tank. But it's unbeatable for riding in a parade. I love it.
