The long-suffering wife, ( who knows how to do these things online ) ordered me a green Mongoose Beast yesterday :thumb:. I think it will be a lot easier than the other bikes to ride in the soft sand. I have been researching the common assembly finds and trying not to get carried away by the tons of upgrades some are doing. < yet, lol > tomhttp://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=355447http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=355448

mine's been cut. weather or not it will become a rideable bike again is still up in the air.

I'm having trouble telling from this picture and the one on Walmart's site: what kind of stem/headset does it have, threadless or threaded?

ilikebikes 12-21-13 01:34 PM

Threadless no name.

OK, does anyone else have a problem with the rear wheel? No matter what I do the tire touches either the chain or the seat stay...:wtf:

A year later and I ordered a Framed Minnesota 1. $800, comes with a spare wheel set in 29er size. Disk brakes and 1x9. wont know if it is a good deal or not for another two weeks. Still keeping the walgoose as a parade cruiser and shop bike, the origin 8 basket has turned out to be great for hardware store runs just to get a box of screws or one more tube of glue. Just want a little more gear range for my old man legs when on the trails. I'll update when I get a ride in.

ilikebikes 02-14-14 11:10 AM

Not as much as Id like, had a real good bicycle crash thats kept me from riding anything but comfy balloon tire bikes for the past 4 months, but I try my best to do that comfortably and with style! ;) LOL!

RaleighSport 02-14-14 11:11 AM

I still look on walmarts site occasionally at those things thanks to you.. I think if they ever did a disc version at 300 I'd snap it up.

I did some clean up. FYI all forum sales must be conducted in the Marketplace. Absolutely no sales are allowed in the regular forums.

Its been awhile since I did a few of those wheelies especially that being a fatty I'd probably break my arse.Thats impressive and makes me feel so much better that I ordered one.

jdswitters 03-19-14 12:49 PM

been riding the minnesota 1.0 the last few days with the fatties, vee rubber missions. lighter, better steering and a 9-speed. love it for the hills and handling. rides like a mountain bike and not a bouncy beach cruiser.

9five9 03-20-14 04:05 PM

bummer....looks like walmart no longer sells these unless I'm not seeing something.

ilikebikes 03-25-14 10:22 AM

Yeah the price of the Dolomite went up to 349.00, screw that.
