Mountain Biking - Attack vs DeoreXT

I have a choice between two rear shifters for my final single ring setup. Im having a tough time decide between a SRAM Attack or a Shimano DeoreXT. My rear der is a DeoreXT but both shifters are compatibile with it.

Which is a better shifter or are they pretty comparable?

I like sram shifters because you shift both up and down with only your thumb, not having to take your index finger off the brake lever. Shimano is up with your thumb and down with your index finger.

get the 750 version, easier for single track.

My main concern is will it work? I guess shifting is shifting right? As long as it works with my rear der then Ill be fine.

SRAM's Attack triggers will be fine.

Personally I like my XT triggers. I even like the Deore shifters I run on my commuter bike (even though the indicaters aren't reliable anymore).

However having said that, (mainly to appease the crowd that thinks I hate all things Shimano) the next MTB I build will feature an all SRAM drivetrain.

I have attacks on my XT der. and they work great. I really like the thumb only shifting. Ive used rapidfires, and grip shifts as well and like these best.
