Mountain Biking - Happy early birthday me :)

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Today I asked my parents to bring me to this sort of new cycling place here called "Papa wheelies". I was fairly impressed with their stuff, they are a specialized dealer so most of their bikes were specialized. Well i look and they have this whole wall full of specialized shoes, I check it out as i have been looking for a nice mtn shoe that has good walkability for some time. I tried on the specialized sonomas and wow wow, they are comfy :D . So my parents got me them as an early birthday gift. Woot :).
Anyways, i payed 55 for them, not too shabby at all. Has anybody else tried them or is using them currently? Can you give me some comments

well im not actually 16 now. Im 16 on august 14. So it was a REALLY early b day gift. I think that the "early b day gift" was just "thankyou for helping renoivating my kitchen".
Yea those sonomas, i looked and they are around 50-60 online. A great buy! I did an 8 mile trail ride tody and they were nice, and i walked into a store with them to get a starbucks and they were ALMOST as comfortable as my sneakers. Plus, they look snazzy :D. I will get pics sometime tonight

disgrace? Why disgrace, those things are great! Though I cant have them too often since the caffeine gives me a stomach ache. The new specialized page sucks

Hey, I just realized today I had an Iced Cappucino today after lunch. From Tim Hortons!
Hoorah! I like it, it's a lot easier to find things I think.

are we talking about the same page? All in black with funny little dark images on the sides? I have not been to Tim hortons. ooh you know what was good, when i was in D.C. they had a whole foods market (wonderful store, theyve got one in boston as well). And they had this stuff called Jamba juice. WOw wow it was tasty!

I love my sonomas, I've always considered them a more recreational shoe. A very comfortable shoe with mesh sides to keep your feet cool, usually good for the an easy afternoon ride. They have a little more flex than I like for any real distance. In the dirt I like the rockhopper, has a stiffer sole but a bendable toe for walking, great incase you end up walking that dirt hill. I also have a pair of the mountain comps, but I'm still not good enough for clipless in the woods.
