Do you find that you see many of the same people as you commute each day?

I say g'day to the school crosswalk attendants, smile at the woman who walks from the train station to work and get passed by many of the same cars.

I see these people, and a few others, everyday so it feels like I know them.

How about you?

Sunday mornings, when I have to be at work at the gas station around 6, I pass an old man taking a walk. He always comes into the gas station to buy his Sunday paper later. It's fun to pass each other on the road while so many other people are still sleeping. Feels like we share a special secret or something. :P

Also, working at at a small-town public library (my main job), is sort of like being a minor celebrity and being 'on view' at all times--I have to watch my behavior in public! A lot of people know who I am, even if I don't remember them. Frequently I'll run into people whose kids are all pointing to me and shouting "Look, it's the library lady!"

"Look, mom, it's the library lady who rides a bicycle!"
