Got my new TT bike and she is a dream. I can't wait to race her on May 7th! I'm not quite sure how it can be shown in anything but the thumbnail size, but a lot is lost in the translation. The bike just seems to want to run!

Just realized that you can click on the thumbnail for a reasonably sized picture.

That bike is absolutly gorgious... and expensive. That wheelset...

Hope you have fun with it, can not wait until mine comes in... of course it will not have ZIPP 999 wheels on it but...

Thanks, I am really excited about it. If someone would have told me a few months ago I would pay $2100 plus tax for a set of bicycle wheels.....

I just love cycling so much, and I love competing, and unfortunately, this is one of those sports where equipment can make a difference. In a recent national time trial, there were four places separated by 1 second. I'm not giving up even a damn second!! :D

Now if I could only figure out how to get air in them by myself!

One day I might have a set of those... but I am scrounging for a RINN disc and a HED 3 spoke front right now. The flame paintjob is just beautiful too. I do not know if I would every myself pay 2k+ for wheels but I do not make 2k in 3 months right now so... maybe in a few years.

Enjoy your new TT bike... and go out and kick some .*** .

The HEDs are very popular locally, and they are sure pretty! Also, they have the advantage of being able to be used in road races and time trials - unlike this wheelset.

That is one of the nastiest bikes I have seen- great job. If I saw you with that monster on race day it would scare the hell out of me. Keep us posted!

Great bike mate!!! You'll fly on that.

Sure beats Spinacis and a very sad rear disc borrowed from a bike shop.....

:D That's what happened to me in my last TT. A chap showed up with a beautiful Cernago with Zipp disk, etc., Louis Garneau helmet and all the stuff. He looked fast, and oh btw, he was fast - he blew everyone away! I'll be looking or him next year!!

Well Zack, you can literally drool on it tomorrow! I guess I will use by beater for our ride - I didn't have the room to bring both the flamed beauty and my Roubaix. Good thing we don't plan a hammerfest! :)

How do you like the arione saddle on a TT bike? I have one on my road bike but it feels like it would be uncomfortable on a TT bike. They do make one for TT though (more padding un front)...

Interesting comment, and I was not aware of that. During the fitting, which was on Friday, I kept having discomfort in the perenium area, and various adjustments were made. I noticed at the end of my 44 mile ride today (first ride), I was a bit sore in that area - something that has never happened with my Specialized Alias. I bought one of the new so called limited edition Ariones btw, it has a red stripe down the center to match the red in my bike.

The place that I got it, and was measured pretty much dedicates itself to triathletes, and they did mention that the Arione was popular with tri guys because (among other things) the extra length of the saddle allows a pretty good choice of seating positions. I'm going to give it some time, and I will see how it feels when I do my first interval workout with it on Tuesday. Another saving factor is that TTs are so damn painful, I am sure I will not notice little bothersome pains - I will be too busy trying to deliver oxygen to my suffering body!

I notice that in crits and circuit races, I am generally going so hard that I do not notice that the chammis on my particular team bibs are not as comfortable as my other bibs on this particular saddle. Usually my feeling is not directed into that area, but into my screaming lungs or legs... interesting.

Absolutely, and I think that time trials are worse. In the four that I did, it was a constant maximum effort, and any pain I might have been experiencing in places other than my lactic acid ladden legs, and lungs attempting to suck more air would have assuredly gone unnoticed!
