Recumbent - carbon gel coat boys go for a ride

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Wonderful time at the Easter ride this morning.
Lot of DF, MTB, tandem and recumbents out on the recreational ride at Governors Park. Some of the local carbon gel coat boys and me were going 32 miles per hour and as fast as traffic at times. It was like being on a motor scooter.
The local carbon gel coat boys were not trying to show off or anything. It was one of those cruise down the road while smiling, waving and ringing our incredibells at the folks we passed along the way.
I'm glad no one in any of the matching jersey teams tried to chase my carbon gel coat buddies at those 32 mph speeds. If a chase had happened I would have to post some obnoxious BS story about how the carbon gel coat boys made someone in a team jersey puke or some smoking yarn. Instead it was just a nice ride in the country at some fun speeds with the carbon gel coat locals and all the cyclist we talked to at the SAGs including those teams with fancy matching colorful jerseys.
This carbon gel coat thingamajigamadoodle sure beats the heck out of riding that heavy 150 lb homebuilt recumbent I used to walk up the hills with while eating PBJs.

Hi Spuds,
I was out for a ride yesterday with the DF group on my DF bicycle. A few of the Trek pro's showed up for a little spin(for them) and a brutal ride for the rest of us. We crused at 32 to 35 mph for miles on end on the flat sections of our course. So in the end it is the rider and not the bike that matters. Put one of those Trek pro's on a NoCom on a flat course? Wow! But I doubt I will see that happen anytime soon. So I would like to invite some of the fast bent riders that post on this site to come to our Tuesday nite ride in Wisconsin in our Hills to do battle with the local college team and the occasional Trek pro that shows up for the event. Bring your lowracer or highracer and your legs and your puke bag man!

MG,
You have to promise to paint BIG dayglow arrows on the streets of your route showing where to turn. If you can guarantee doing that both Spuds and his sidekick Pancho will show up with carbon gel coat Thingamajigs to play at your recreational theme park ride.
Heck with all those big hills it will be like a ride at Great America.
No time to look at maps or cue sheets when going 30+. Only looking we'll be doing is for BIG dayglow arrows the occasional glance in the rearview mirror. We may need to use our loud incredibells at the start of the ride for passing.
