this will be super fun. i'm lining up sponsors. IRO has donated a frameset - at the very least, you should come out to win that! there will be plenty of bags and other goodies. i'm almost certain that PBR will be doing it up again, too.

I made it there two years ago, and it was the best thing ever. I'll see if I can bring some Pittsburgh out to the Ohio flats.

Providence Recycle A Bike (http://www.recycleabike.org)'s annual benefit race is coming up. It'll be somewhat alleycat style, with an emphasis on lighthearted fun. There will be interesting tasks, beverages from Narragansett Ale, prizes from Bailey Works, Cranked Magazine, Circle A Cycles, and a party with bands and food from the Taqueria at AS220 downtown. Click on the flyer for more info.

so, um, who thinks it'd be completely ****ing wacky to do the Hartford alleycat, take a trip up to boston to do Legend of Zelda and then head back down to New Haven for the 2nd of the Kings of England race? If I can find an insane folk or two to join for the adventure, I would def be down

[from www.crucialbrutal.com]

Hey dudes! So. For all of you who I havent passed a flyer to, or harassed about endlessly about this: This weekend: All Philadelphia Scavenger Hunt. 2 Days, 2 Dollars. Teams of 2-4. Required of each team: One Polaroid or digital camera. This thing will take place over the course of the entire weekend. All day, both days. You can come and hunt through our grimy city streets for all sorts of items, and photo-ops, compete in physical and mental tests, and basically inject the beginning of your summer with about ten pounds of awesome. Registration will be taking place on Saturday Morning at 10 AM aon the front steps of my home at 1616 S.4th St. Come bring 2 bucks and register. From there: Compete! Do as much or as little as you please for as much of the weekend as you can. There will be prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place...worth a couple hundred bucks, I may add. A handful of other noteworthy accomplishments will also be rewarded. This race has been designed to be straight edge and vegan friendly, although, other options are available. Basically, I want a Scavenger Hunt that doesnt involve rushing as much as you can through the city at break neck speeds on a fixed gear bike for 2 hours, drunk out of your mind. The key is leisurely exploration here. And having a blast and hanging out, outside for a couple days. For any more specific information, write to me, or Alicia@alicianeal.net and we'll tell you all about it. Be awesome. And Thanks, J.N.Gray. PS: Feel free to tell whomever you'd like. The more the merrier. Forward this on, folks!

Considering that the 14th is my birthday, I was tempted to go full-bore in an attempt to win the alleycat, as a gift to myself. Shiz like rolling on my roadbike, wearing my lycra and doing massive amounts of EPO. But I won't. I don't want Lil' Jon giving me any ****, nor do I want any flack from you. :)

Presenting the

Alleykat races and other hoopla

Saturday May 13th 5PM(bring yr bag and a lock)

Pre-register at Acme $7. $10 day of (along with one non-perishable food item to help acme continue to feed the neighborhood homeless-please no pie filling or tomato paste-something that can be eaten as is...THANKS.) First 30 folks who sign up will get a free t-shirt. Everyone will get free food and drinks. And of course a cool spoke card along with one great time. There are some awesome sponsors on board this year. Sure to please everyone who shows up. As always at Acme, being the fastest does not guarantee the best of the give-aways. Creativity, daring and the ability to have fun may. Music is a probability again this year. Stayed tuned.

Celebrating bicycle culture with some great fun and shenanigans(we highly encourage and possibly reward those dressing for the occasion). We're changing things round a bit this year. Saturday morning will begin with another Everything Bicycle Jumble , before the alley kat races.

We've got some cool LOCAL sponsors, along with some well-known bicycle industry types offering swag for prizes this year. It's gonna be one helluva ride! A preview of swag:
