bada boom bada bing. as far as the tire thing though, wouldnt having alot of weight (relatively speaking) on your back, in a messenger bag or backpack, accomplish a similar thing? i know when i have a lot of crap stuffed in my bag, and then i ride with no weight, i feel like i can go much faster.

i wait for the day that my dog finishes his food. thats one of the only time i would go to costco on a bike. Find the biggest bag of dog food and ride the 5 miles home.

If I remember correctly Coppi used to ride with rocks in his bag for traing for races..IE: Tour De France.
