Introductions - Hello from San Francisco

Jessica says hello from the hilly city. My husband and I ride a Greenspeed tandem recumbent trike around town, mostly grocery shopping and similar errands. A trike so that someone with a lousy sense of balance, like me, can enjoy cycling without fear of falling over. A tandem so that Hubby doesn't leave me in the dust, despite his faster pace. We put in extra-low gearing so that even a couple of couch potatoes like us can shlep a week's worth of groceries home over the hills. We chug along sedately but still get loads of smiles and waves from pedestrians, cyclists, and motorists.

You DO realize I just had to go look up your tandem trike, don't you? That's a sweet looking ride!! :D Do you put a pole with a flag on it so the cars can see you better around the city? If you'd ridden that on our Primavera Century yesterday over here in the East Bay, you'd have received thousands of looks and comliments.

I didn't even know there was enough room in the entire city of San Francisco for a tandem recumbent, let alone in a private residence! Where do you keep it? I have a recumbent trike discreetly stored in the middle of the living room. Even a single is huge! JenM
