I am putting together a cheap commuter fixie and am looking for some cheap ($20 + or -) but decent tires for it. I'm in Brooklyn where potholes, glass, etc. abound. Does anyone have any advice?
I am considering the following two:
Vredestein Volante SE (http://www.nashbar.com/profile.cfm?category=121&subcategory=1085&brand=&sku=11667&storetype=&estoreid=&pagename=)
or
Vittoria Action Pro Team HSD (http://www.nashbar.com/profile.cfm?category=121&subcategory=1085&brand=&sku=10253&storetype=&estoreid=&pagename=)
Does anyone know anything about either of these or have any recommendations for something in this price range? I had a friend who had a ***** of a time getting his Vittoria tires on his rims.
