BMX - help with quarterpipe

im building a quarterpipe in my backyard. i have heaps of plywood for the face and some beams for the frame but when i ride it the middle bit looks like its gonna break. how can i make the middle stronger? if i just shove sum crates or sumthing under it would that b enough to strengthen it? and also how tha fuk do people air out of quarters real high and ride fakie? i always fall off cos i cant pedal backwards quick enough.

Practice.

If you angle a 2x4 with one end on the ground and the other against the weak back part of the ramp and cut the 2x4 to fit the angle of the ramp a little better, then do that once every couple of feet for the weak part. Then take a long 2x4(however long it has to be to cover the weak spot) and then... ooh.. crap. I got lost in what I was saying...

yeh i think i know what u mean anyway i will try it. but can sum1 tell me how the hell do u pedal backwards so fast?

Fricking load of practice. I suck at riding fakie, I can barely balance for 3 revolutions of the pedal. I'm working on it...

You could get a freecoaster hub, but that's cheating.
