The harder the peg material, the easier it should slide on most surfaces. So, heat treated 4130/4140 pegs should slide the best. Pick a brand after that.

Oh, and if they are knurled, forget about it until they wear down.

so what you saying is, if i had pegs made from diamonds they would slide the best?

Yes, but diamonds are to brittle and can't be shaped into pegs.

Acctually the could be shapped into pegs

No, they really couldn't. The chemical structure of a diamond wouldn't allow for it, mainly due to the angles of fracture.

You could make the pgs the same way they make abrassive diamond grinding wheels for surface grinding, only problem is they would crack the first time you grinded something, it could be done, but it would have too many problems to work out, and would make the pegs very expensive, these are just a few of the reasons why this would never happen.

haha, if someone had diomond pegs they would get stolen before you could even use em so it wouldnt matter if they would break

yea, so if you smith concrete and you don't lean back you do a faceplant. i go pretty fast when i go to grind, so if i want to manual/180 off it i have to maintain that speed while grinding
