so we're cruising through central park last sunday on our distance ride...
beautiful weather, and it's packed with pedestrians, roller bladers, weekend riders, and the like. our pack, about 7 or so, is picking and weaving our way through the mess so we can get out of the park, and back into traffic - this is one of those rare occasions when traffic seems safer than not.
anyway, as we pass a father and his young daughter, giving her a *w i d e* berth (she's probably all of 5 years old), he yells at her, "watch out, [little tracy], those are the bikes that will kill you!"
had a good chuckle at that one. she'll forever be afraid of track bikes, and i'm secure in knowing that i ride one of 'those bikes' that kill people. sweet.
