Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - Who rides full on trackbikes on the street?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Just curious...I have been for a while now...I feel like it has helped me imensely with my cadence, balance and strength. Somehow it seems completely impractical though? Mine is a sprint frame with seriously steep angles and low drop (looks gucci but its not, built it up used for < 400 beans)...I think some of the messengers hate me for it. ohwell. What do you guys think of a pure track bike on the street?

Seriously, what constitutes a “full on trackbike”?
If by "full on track" you mean with track ends, no accomodations for brakes, and twitchy geometry, then I do. If you mean something else, then I don't.

Thats what I mean.

yeah, track bikes have various degrees of geometry, some are tighter than others, some have sloping top tubes, some don't some come drilled for brakes, some don't, etc. etc. etc. i don't think a definition of a "full on track bike" can be found.

...track drops too. otherwise, it's something else.

wait a minute here... no brakes! how do you stop!? sheesh. that sounds scary.
Clarification...
Sprint geometry=.short head tube for low position, steep seattube, short chain stays 39cm, no brakes holes at all, bottom of drops even with top of 700c, slightly shorter than fit top tube...stiff as hell Aluminum Aero tube set (mine is anyway)

if you don't have brake holes, where do the brakes go? you bike sounds like a spaceship! wow. do you drink ovaltine?
Is Full On a new bike company? It seems they make track bikes, but do they make other types as well?

If my bike was a spaceship, wouldn't I drink Tang?

If you have holes where brakes could go, but no brakes, does that make them just holes? Can a "full on trackbike" have holes but no brakes?

Tang goes best with dehydrated ice cream. Yum!

Basically you're asking, "who rides my bike?" and the answer is, "you do, silly."

oh yeah, crap... i guess it would be tang. tang it. ba-dum-tah. all this talk of riding a full on bike with no brakes has me shivering with fright. indeed. no brakes. sounds like some sort of freedom hating thing to me.
i don't think a definition of a "full on track bike" can be found.
i admit that sounds a bit vauge but I think it can be found... one that is designed and built for velodrome racing.

what's a velodrome? is that like a thunderdrome? does tina tuner ride one of those full-on-no-brake-hole-bikes!? so, let me get this straight... you don't have brakes or brake holes or pedals? you're nuts. seriously.

This thread has almost entered its second page and there has been no mention of either pie or facepunches. I'm so proud of you guys. Tina Turner was right: we don't need another hero. You guys are heroes enough for me.

who wants a track bike?
no brakes, fixed gear, dangerous
I'll have pie with mine

I just looked in the bike directory and there is no mention of a bike company called "Full On". I smell a scam. And it smells like.............PIE!!!

I think the question should be:
"Who rides full of pie, on trackbikes, on the street?
Enjoy
Wait a second! Is that what I'm riding?
Is my bike a 'track' bike? I guess that would explain why there's no brakes. I don't think it's "Full-on", it's not aluminum...

I'm riding a full on hangover this morning. Why did I have to be a showoff and drink all the Zima?
Not only is this yet another self-conscious, self-indulgent "Don't hate me because I'm a poseur" thread, but Judah used it as another opportunity to show off his lovely Don Walker...making all of us, or at least me, very jealous.
Okay okay...you guys are great really... ugh I should have known better. I'm not trying to come off as if this is something new or anything...

Sorry dude, just a little early in the morning to be serious. Nobody meant any harm. Post a picture of your bike. I also got mine for ~$300, from a guy who didn't know what he had.

Ahh yes, I was just getting ready to take it apart to throw it in the washer, but decided to slap the rear wheel back on and take a 'before' pic, to see if the washer did any good. For some reason the bike is now much heavier after being in the washer....
Thanks...I don't have a pic yet.
He didnt know what he had because someone before him took off the decals...

I was unlocking yesterday when guy ran up and started asking all kinds of questions about the bike. I directed him to your website. He said he was getting ready to order a custom frame but he hadn't decided who to get it from yet. Just a heads up...

You know frames are dry clean only right?
If you put it in the washer it'll shrink something awful.

alvin from 'a straight story' has one, but refers to it simply as the 'grabber'.
"whatcha need a grabber for, alvin?" "grabbin'."

This thread is making me feel deficient on so many levels. I don't have a Full-On Track Bike, nor do I have a proper grabbin' stick.
*sigh*
Back to the salt mines for me I 'spose.
