I just bought a RaceFace Bash Guard (http://www.pricepoint.com/detail/11231-100_RACBG2-3-Parts-52-Chainrings/Race-Face-Bash-Ring-.htm) to go on the right side of my BlackSpire Ring (http://www.pricepoint.com/detail/13874-080_BLAMV5-3-Parts-52-Chainrings/Blackspire-Mono-Veloce-Single-Speed-Chainrings.htm) but I think the RF guard is not intended to be used on the outside. Or does it really matter? Its the right size for my ring (104BCD) but the description at pricepoint says "Protects your inner and middle rings and provides greater clearance for those steep drops." Does that mean this guard cant be used as an outer guard for SR setups?

its used to protect the inner 2 rings only, because it replaces the 3rd ring. simply take off the outer ring replace it with bash guard, and your done
